AbstractProfessor Goodson reports on some of the findings from a four year study (2004-2008)of educational reforms in England and Wales, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Sweden, and Greece. Educational reform is one area where the limitations of neo-liberal thinking have been demonstrated in the financial crisis. By studying the different ranges of national responses and understsanding the different contexts for educational change in historical periods, the author suggests it is possible to think differently about educational restructuring.
