Abstract

The accompanying drawings and sketches are for an ongoing project set in a small café beneath railway arches in Hackney. The intervention is situated above the rear area of the café where it receives light from above at the side of the railway line. The proposal consists of a series of angled textured panels which emphasise the light falling from above and a number of mechanical elements which are sensitive to (and emphasise) the vibrations caused by the trains (the sound of which is currently quite faint).
